The man accused of killing an Upstate deputy has been found guilty. Ray Kelly was accused of dragging Sgt. Conley Jumper, of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, with his car during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in October 2020. Kelly was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to life in prison. It took the jury a little under four hours to deliver the verdict. Body camera and dash-camera footage from deputies showed Kelly's car drag Jumper across multiple lanes on I-85, getting hit by a tractor-trailer and then a deputy's car that was headed to the scene for backup. It was an emotional trial, with the state calling 18 witnesses consisting of enforcement officers, the coroner and forensic analysts.
